Mid to Late Season Color with Stokesia
Stokes'Aster

This underutilized native perennial loves full sun and provides dependable color in mid to late season.  It is a moisture lover, but is still quite drought tolerant once established.  The most common cause of death is wet feet in winter. Deadheading will prolong bloom.  Since this plant is quite evergreen, wait until spring to remove any unsightly foliage.
